Selection of the spindles
|
|
|
|
|
|
Each
task demands a careful selection of the spindle system. The smallest
spindles
are of special interest since they determine mainly the essential
operation time.
As
to be seen in the table below, the optimal number of revolutions for steal,
with a diameter of 2 mm, is 30.000 rotations per minute. It has to be taken into
account that the
effective diameter of milling cutters for radius is normally much
smaller than the nominal diameter. Hence,
an even higher speed is necessary
for good surface quality.
Even
much higher number of revolutions are optimal when working with materials
such as copper or graphite. The more solid spindles, like the 1201, are surely
strong enough
to use also milling cutters with a diameter of 30 mm to handle
steal for tools.

Further
spindles with number of revolutions of up to 160.000 r/min on demand. |
|
|
| |
|
Smallest
milling actions with milling cutters of less than 0,5 mm diameter demand
an optimal number of revolutions of 60.000 r/min. Wissner even offers systems
with a number
of revolution of 160.000 that still allow an economical production
of micro-small tools.
The spindles mainly need hollow frame cones as an intersection. These hollow
frame cones are characterized by an enormous stiffness and they are superior to
frame cones
of the same diameter. This superiority is also to be seen at the inner
claw that becomes especially
stable at a higher number of revolution. As a result
the whole tension system is even stiffer. All
cones of normal size used by Wissner
are in stock so that we can help quickly with the supply . Wissner
has also
several tool holding fixture systems on site at our presentation centre as to give
you detailed advise on the appropriate tension system.
