When choosing the optimal system, the overhang or active diameter may
minimize the turning system. However, the overhang should not be more than
300 mm. The usage of a rotation-swivelling device is best when working with
small work pieces. While larger work pieces demand rather a 5-Axis-head.
Rotation-swivelling tables or 5-Axis-heads have always the disadvantage of
little dynamic. The obtainable precision is reduced because of possible errors
in the adjusting of the consecutive rotation and swivelling movements since a
swivelling actuation moves the axis of actuation.

To compensate these disadvantages Wissner developed an extremely
    effective, very precise and perfectly dynamic 5-D-system. Every single
    rotation is allocated to one linear axis. Therefore even medium work pieces
    that are not too heavy can be moved very dynamically.
